Economic Self-Sufficiency in Action

By generating revenue and creating employment, Glooscap Ventures helps reduce reliance on external funding. This gives our Nation the freedom to lead its own path—on our terms.

84% of GFN's revenue was generated from Glooscap Ventures.

Our Annual Soar Up Scholarship

To support the education and growth of our youth, we offer two annual Soar Up Scholarships, each valued at $2,500. These scholarships help students further their studies at post-secondary institutions and build a bright future. 220 tonnes of GHG reduction in 2024

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

At Glooscap Ventures, sustainability is more than a commitment — it’s a responsibility. In 2024, we reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 220 tonnes through targeted clean energy investments that benefit both our community and the environment.

Our 2024 GHG Reductions Came From:

  • Solar energy installation at Yarmouth Bar Fisheries

  • Solar system expansion at Glooscap Landing

  • Installation of 2 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers

  • Energy efficiency upgrades company wide

These initiatives help lower operating costs, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and move us closer to energy independence—all while aligning with Net Zero goals and the stewardship values of Glooscap First Nation.

Equivalent to removing ~47 gas-powered vehicles off the road for a year.

Looking Ahead

We are building the next generation of prosperity—by growing our businesses, investing in our people, and creating a strong economic foundation for future generations.

If you’re a Glooscap member looking for work, interested in training, or want to explore business opportunities, we’re here to help.
